This is what most kids were told: “You need from go to college and it’s okay if you don’t have money. This is why there are student loans to “help” you. After you graduate you will get a good job that will pay it all off.”

I’m sick of hearing so many people blaming this on the “naive” millennials and zoomers when it’s the generations before them that told them that going to college was a requirement to be successful no matter the cost.

My husband and I are almost done paying off our student loans but we regret going to college. It has gotten us nowhere in terms of jobs related to our degrees. This is why my husband and I will be pushing and teaching our daughter to start a business instead of going to college.

I can’t wait to watch the documentary too 👍🏾

Better story than Twilight (or most Hollywood movies released recently).

Leaving college was the best choice I made. Fortunate to have walked away with zero debt.

I went to my local community college to get my gen eds done and save money. Tons of people said they thought I went there to get my GPA up so I could get into the university. I hate the stigma of going to CC. I had a great experience there and my diploma has the university’s name on it 🤷🏻‍♀️ so glad I saved that money!

They say a college degree opens up doors, they were right. Back to the loan office asking for more.

An 18 year old can be approved for a $60k student loan but not a $10k auto loan- something is wrong with that picture.

So excited for this! Although I've now paid off my student loans, they followed me for nearly a decade and have forced me to question my position on the quality of a college degree. Although I do have a good paying job that I would not have without a degree, I've always felt the college industry was massively hurting the average family. I'm just glad I had the insights to attend a lower cost public school instead of an out of state or private institution.

This is going to be a VERY important documentary. This should be required by all college students. Dave Ramsey is telling the truth.

I was fortunate enough to have my mom pay for a 3 yr RN diploma at my local college (Canada) while I worked part time and paid for my books. Now as a full time nurse I’m cash flowing/ using grants to fund a BScN and eventually my NP, while saving for my kiddo to go to school with that same deal. Living within our means is one of the most important life lessons to teach kids about money. That and part of what you earn is yours to keep.

We need this. This problem is not going away. I'll scream from the rooftops how horrific student loans are, but few listen.

I really hope this is free to watch on youtube and not behind some paywall or some other website.

There needs to be reform period. A 18yr old can not get a $100k car loan or a business loan from a bank. Why then can they then get the same loan for a degree?

I can't help but think A.O. is going to become an A-list celebrity after this drops

I did extensive research into various colleges, costs, city COL, and cost mitigating tactics at 16, one year before attending university. I have just graduated and began working in the investment management sector, with a decent salary, and minimal debt that will be knocked out by the year’s end. If parent’s and educators are EDUCATED to push students to research their options more carefully, we wouldn’t have this issue. Start with the parents and educators and let the necessary info and skills trickle down to these young adults in high school!
