All my schools made it clear that college is your ultimate goal and if you don't make it, you're a failure or dumb. Yet, the people I know that didn't go to college are making huge bank.

I remember in high school the big push by the teachers and councilors was what did you want to go to college for, and if you were not going to college, well, you were going to be poor. It was like, if we didn't get accepted in a college, they had failed to prepare us. That is the first thing that needs to change.

I think one of the biggest contributors to this epidemic is that so many jobs won’t look twice at you unless you have some sort of bachelors even if it is in a completely unrelated field. People (or software) will automatically discard “uneducated” applicants even if they would be the best person for the job

I watched it as soon as I got home after my night shift in 10/14. It was awesome. I sat there with tears running down my face. Im showing this documentary to everyone i know who is a student or who has a child going to college.

I worked part time went to a junior college for AA then transferred to instate public university to finish BA..lived at home. Graduated in 2003 no debt at all.

Limit the loans amount and costs of colleges will drop. There are many steps that can be taken to avoid loans or take very minimum

A college degree doesn't carry the value that it once did. I know people who never went to college. They lied on their resume about a degree and experience. They have been doing the job for years. They also just observed others and quickly learned how to do the job.

Will be very interesting to see the documentary! There are many paths you can take in life that lead to a successful future, only some are aided by a college degree, and some degrees can open the door to much higher paying fields than others.
