So many gems here! As a broke recording arts student, THANK YOU!

I usually skip "free plugin" videos because I usually already know about them all... but i didn't know about surge. That first sound that you used as an example was so beautiful to me. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you for making a VST Instrument list that isn't solely Synths! A lot of YouTubers seem to cover only the synth stuff, appreciate it.

Softpiano is SO beautiful. Bit of pre-delay reverb and you've got instant heartbreak!

Spitfire audio seem amazing - I had no idea they had a free version of anything!

Thank you so much. I got the Spitfire soft piano on my PC. Had a piano based song already laid out in MIDI, took my stock piano out and dropped the Spitfire in, it went from stiff and tinny to warm and lush just like that. Can't say thanks enough.

As of 2021 I HIGHLY suggest Vital in regards to synthetizers, the free version is really good and its design is outstanding

I have all the LABS instruments, and i love them all!! Original, misterious, unique, some ones seem to be alive with some noises in the background. Really useful and original sounds!!

This was so helpful. I'm a pretty old school recording nut, and have always used hands-on real instruments. This makes being able tho record anywhere at any time. I'm primarily a acoustic singer song writer. The drums and keys would workshop great. Thanks a bunch

I've gone through this video a couple of times now to see what I might like to add to my kit and every time it gets to the "Spitfire Labs, it slaps" bit I laugh out loud. Thank you for that!

Here are some time stamps for each instrument:

0:11 - Spitfire LABS
2:23 - Komplete Start
3:39 - Ample Bass P Lite II
4:27 - SoundMagic Piano One
5:09 - Surge by Vember Audio
6:07 - Spitfire BBC Orchestra
6:59 - Dexed
7:44 - u-he Tyrell N6
8:50 - DrumMic’a

p.s. In retrospect I realize it's definitely "Drum MIC a"... Like you're miking the drums (facepalm)

Vital, OB-Xd, PG-8X, and Charlatan are all amazing synth plugins as well. Vital in particular has amazing visual feedback, so it's great for beginners or visually sensitive people.

I wonder if others have the same bad habit that I have. I’ll install a plug-in and take the quick tour, then I forget to reach for it when composing! Learned a lot about instruments I already own, by watching your video. Definitely gonna subscribe!!

Thank you so much for making this video! I cannot express how amazed I am with the Spitfire LABS instruments!! These are absolutely amazing and I would have never heard of this company if it wasn't for this video. I'll definitely consider purchasing their products in the future :) Also happy about their BBC Orchestra.

I can personally speak on Spitfire. It is FANTASTIC. I use their strings and keys plugins the most and they are AMAZING. It really helps a lot for those who don’t have a ton of money but love to make music
