In the late 80s, when the succession process was heating up, LKY sent out a questionnaire asking his 'candidates' why they went into government. All replied that the high salary was the attractive part except one. This thin bespectacled young man said that the reason he is in politics is because SG is his home and this is where his future lies. Who is this thin bespectacled young man? You are listening to him. All the above are not my words. They are LKY's words. It does say a lot about the quality of the PAP political elite.

Mr Yeo should school Singapore MSM like Channel News Asia and The Straits Times in the geopolitics of the emerging multipolar world!

Japan and the Philippines are cornerstones of the strategy to keep Asia poor and divided. This policy is articulated in the top-secret U.S. Foreign Policy written 76 years ago.

February 24, 1948, Declassified U.S. Foreign Policy:
Furthermore, we have about 50% of the world’s wealth but only 6.3% of its population. This disparity is particularly great as between ourselves and the peoples of Asia. In this situation, we cannot fail to be the object of envy and resentment. Our real task in the coming period is to devise a pattern of relationships which will permit us to maintain this position of disparity without positive detriment to our national security. ... that Japan and the Philippines will be found to be the corner-stones of such a Pacific security system and that if we can contrive to retain effective control over these areas there can be no serious threat to our security from the East within our time.

Taiwan was added to the Pacific security system after Chiang's army retreated to the island of Taiwan in 1949. South Korea was added after the Korean War in 1953. The attempt with Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia was abandoned in 1975. The 1989 attempt in China failed. The 2019-2020 attempt in Hong Kong also failed.

Looks like the US decided to play the Taiwan card after repeated failures in coercing china in recent months. The fact the US dictates how Taiwanese candidates should behave should tell you about Taiwan's "democracy". My understanding is that DPP candidates are also pre-screened by the US.

It is good that George Yeo speaks his mind on the sensitive issues of China, America and Philippines. Just like in a game of poker-ice, he lifted up the container and exposed the dice called by the player. In this way, people are more aware of the prevailing dangers and pitfalls in cultural milieu of the nations involved in the issues of the South China Seas that the Americans, the Philippines and the Japanese are luring them in. It is about time to expose the various strategies, tactics and treacheries employed by the various vassals states of the US.

People as prepared and brilliant as Singaporean leaders LKY or George Yeo are very necessary in Latin America 🥲😞. This interview is a master class in geopolitics and economics. Greetings.

I can see so much of LKY's mannerism and etiquette in George Yeo

Comprehensive responses by George Yeo. Shows his good understanding of global political and economic dynamics. From the questions directed by Raza, he appears more journalistic, interested inly in politics than asset management. If Asia is not good for investment, what is he doing in Singapore?

Would disagree on statement of Asean is being united. Philippines have territorial claim against China near the SCS and actually this is peanut. Getting on board with US to provoke China. But the other key issues was Sabah. Philippines is still claiming Sabah which voted to join Malaysia decades ago and Philippines refused to accept this referendum organised by Britain during the formation of Malaysia to include Sabah, Sarawak and Brunei. Of course Brunei chose to declare independence and not joining Malaysia. Philippines is a weak link in Asean bonding. Today is the tiny island at SCS, tmw it could be Sabah.

Indeed, Singapore society needs to help one another. always remember you may have the most luxurious house, the most beautiful tower, the best built swimming pool hall Suana, if the ground you’re building, your car, it’s on, is shaky, weak soft, whatever I on top of the ground will just crumble!

On ASEAN, Philippines is reverting back to U.S. client state to fight China, how? It is the odd one out in ASEAN.
