India has a population of close to 1.4 billion. Its top-brains and talents count in millions. It needs only a small fraction of them to flood this tiny island if Singapore, let alone the job market. The question is not whether Singapore welcomes talents from India, but how many and in what sectors? So far, the migrant talents from India (some have become naturalized Singaporean) have featured rather prominently particularly in the financial and IT sectors and seemed to build a network of relationships among themselves to reinforce their presence. Singapore should welcome diverse talents from every corner of the wotld, and not from a particular region or country.

So far he's the only senior ex-politician and PAP member who came out to speak his mind on all the hot button issues. And his concerns are in line with those of many "local" Singaporeans.

A very thoughtful, intellectual and compassionate personality whom Singapore benefitted while he was in politics. I have a healthy respect for you Sir as I have been the recipient of your able leadership as an MP of the then constituency that I was living in. God Bless you Mr. George Yeo.

To be able straight talk to point with no punk (intended), GY have again proven beyond doubt the Wisdom He carries and noble standing of exuding thoughts no matter how deep the sensitivity of the topic, subject matter is. Calling a Spade as one without any (political) inclination, accepting flaws of self along the way is such maturity that many (retired) Politicians cannot achieve, let alone fathom. Again, such man are few and the Highest Office in the Land should await him to augur noble, respected and acclaim journey for this Country.

The way he speaks seems to show the closest resemblance to LKY among old and current politicians.

Was a MP that got voted out. Now, a fortune teller. He can predict the future. Making assumptions that deviate from the real situation.

George Yeo is so wise. For SG to succeed, we need to keep morphing to remain relevant to the outside world - without losing our core identity.

Such talent and deep thinking person should be leading the Country. Singaporean made a major mistake to unconsciously 'kick' him out of politics. He was one of the better FM we had. Definitely better than the current one I should dare say. He is down to earth and doesn't pay lip service to please anyone. A man that walks the talk.

Mr George Yeo is loyal and down to earth person. He had contributed his service to Singapore as a diplomat with outstanding services. He should be appointed as Senior Minister to guide the young Ministers.Full of respect to this former foreign Minister.

One wonders if Geroge Yeo would agree to be part of The Singapore COnversation, not representing the Govt, but as a neutral observer and a citizen.
Have live debates every 2-weeks/1 month, with a cross-section of society, not just academics, but thoughtful people from different walks of life, different races, maybe different age groups.
It has to be productive, and not a complain session, so participants need to do homework, present arguments ahead that are well-formulated, with motive/intent clearly defined. It might add more value than talking to Ministers.

Are there no able local Singaporeans in place of the so called bright sparks under the CECA plan?
