Glad your remaking the vids from a few years ago with more experience. I love anything Converse

So...we wore these when we were kids. BUT in the late 1960s Sear sold what appeared to be a Chucks knockoff. The Sears shoes were less than half the price of Chucks at the spots store. However, we discovered that if you peeled the little rubber "sears" lable off the bottom of the shoe you actually owned real Chucks! I suppose that Sears worked some sort of deal with Converse to sell overstock maybe?

I actually still have a pair of white high-top Chucks that have Made in the USA on the inside, ..and on the label on the rubber on the back/bottom. I got them at an Outlet Mall about 25 years ago. I wear them occasionally just as a conversation piece. Hard to believe that NBA players used to play with them on. It literally feels like you are wearing socks is so little padding on the bottom.

I found a pair of 1963 Converse "Football shoes" in a vintage clothing shop, 30 years ago. My father said "I had the same shoes in 1958." The soles are cracked now but I I'm still holding on to them in hope that they can be somehow repaired. Such a cool piece of history.

I wore these as a child in the late seventies early eighties. I bought a pair off a clearance rack a few years ago and they have become once again my favorite casual footwear. Sort of the original barefoot sneaker but with some squish. I do not run or workout in them however. It's almost hard to believe today that's what they were made for.

Wish more people cared about the PF Flyers.

Loved the video. I wear the 70's daily for 8 hours a day and love them. The classic style can take you almost anywhere, and access to a variety of colors is pretty great.

Would be interested in a comparison to the All-Star inspired shoes (Nothing New, U.S Rubber, P.F. Flyers), and how they compare to their "upgraded" counterparts (Goral, Thursday).

Looking forward to the next one

I have been wearing Chucks for years. Since the demise of the Chuck Taylor II, I have the 70s as my favourites. I can walk all day in them and they are great for long driving sessions too. I've had Olive Green and Sangria... It might be time for a classic black and egret pair.
Great video!

I have made many footwear decisions based on your videos... thanks so much! Palladium, Thursday, Converse... all are in my shoe rotations and all because of these videos!

Converse! Pretty much the only shoe I wear over a decade now. 70’s are now my preferred style now.
Loved the All Star II’s when they were making them, I think those had to be my favourite update they attempted; had a couple pairs of the Flyknit ones *chef’s kiss*

I wore Converse exclusively in the 60s, and 70s because that was all there was. Never understood why I couldn't pass the running test at school until I got a pair of New Balance and blazed through the time tests. 70s Converse sucked. I didn't know shoes could be comfortable until I got a pair of Redwing boots in my Jr. year of high school .

Wow! it really is constructed better, and not just a sales gimmick. Love what you do, it's really a public service. Informing people on where to spend their hard earned money.

I tune in here the odd time (Subscribed) .. But this is the first I heard of the new modern built Jungle Boot!!!. I'm a Canadian Armed Forces veteran (served in the reserves, many years ago) .

I was twice issued a (pre-worn) pair of the original Jungle Boot, with an ounce of that, off white, anti-fungal powder dumped inside!! :) ... Much more comfortable than our standard cobalt boot! Or those awful hard leather parade boots!

This is very interesting!! ... Definitely adding my name to the email list here!

Awesome video. As someone who grew up with Chuck Taylor's from the 80s onward, I've got to say, the Chuck 70s offer everything I've always wanted in my traditional canvas sneakers. They are definitely worth all the extra money and more.

If you’re not aware, both Converse and Vans make shoes specifically for skateboarding. So they have their basic shoes you can get from the mall. But then they have lines of shoes you can get from skate shops. I would love to see a video of you comparing them.

I was concerned about the reputation that Chucks have for being too narrow for all day comfort, so I sized up. I also custom ordered a pair through Converse's fun design your own program, which at the time let me do black on black with yellow stitching, reinforced pull tab heel, gold eyelets, yellow laces, yellow lining, and embroidered message on the tongue. They've since changed what you can customize on the Chuck 70s, but I'm really happy with the extra durable features of the better model.

Good review!
Recently I bought Converse Chuck 70 Bosey (A04531C) which is even more upgraded version over regular Chuck 70: rip-stop canvas and thicker and reinforced sole.

I have no interest in canvas shoes, don't understand how they can be comfortable. But i enjoyed the history lesson and break down, thank you!
