I had two shield units there that held the narrow bridge in a turtle against near full stack enemy down for the artillery to run out of things to throw and things to hit. Lost 11 good spear men that day *sniff* I learned to love the bridge that day despite my heavy casualties

Be it the new ones like total war warhammer or the older ones like mediveal for some fucking reason half the damm time the ai wants to form up their army on the other side of the bridge/chokepoint.

Gotta love the ai units sandwiching themselfs in 1 tiny spot.

I love bridge fights i just put rows of archers at the river banks near the bridge to avoid friendly fire and make a U shape formations of cohorts at the mouth of the bridge and somtimes send out horsemen to make the enemy attack XD
