If you dive in it’s not a common mistake. If you dive and get the ball it can break up play early and start a counter while your team is further forward. NEVER dive in if you’re facing a counter though as if you miss you make the numerical disadvantage larger

I trained jockeying with my father earlier, i jockeyed in hopes of delaying the ball but he stepped over and dribbled past me

I dont see a lot of people talking about this but if they are fast and try to go past you with their speed you can put your arm out to stop them and use your physique to your advantage

You need to be positioned sideways, so you can change direction, don't stand with your body up front. Don't position yourself like the person in the video
