I think once you're near or passed middle age there's a strong desire just to be around good people where it's family, friends, sporting teams etc. We become more time poor and such things become important

I'm 60 years YOUNG. My advice is take care of yourself health wise. Love and enjoy what you do. Don't be a slave to work. If you have children enjoy them and cherish the time you have with them..they grow up quickly. Thank God for All your blessings.

My life advice: don’t ever settle for doing some kind of work that you don’t enjoy. Find your passion and pursue it. You won’t ever be a happy person if you’re stuck in a “job” you hate and just wait to retire. My secret to happiness has been to pursue my dream and not think about monetary success. Trust me, it’s the best way to live life. I am a concert pianist and I know too many musicians and have adult students who are doctors or lawyers, and hate their jobs with a passion. They would have preferred being like me, but got sucked into the mentality that earning money was more important. Earning money will never be a path to happiness. Ask anyone who’s won a lottery. It’s the things that give life meaning which are most important and earning a paycheck at something you despise is a recipe for unhappiness and living an unfulfilled life. I have no intention of ever retiring. That would be the death of me. I would do what I do without compensation and who can say such a thing about their career or job?

In the words of a well written book:
“Do what you love, the money will come.”
Don’t settle for less in life when you can be fulfilled. You don’t want to be 65 and realize you’ve done nothing but be a slave to a corporation and a miserable person. They will drain every ounce of joy and life out of you.

I really enjoy these videos. I’ve always been interested in what someone older than me had to share. Wisdom is something that has to be earned. It isn’t bought or passed down. Our current western society does nothing to uphold the value of our elders.
