one more argument against ignite would be that your ult gets canceled if you try to ignite while ulting and the person you're igniting just walked out of ignite range. I swapped to barrier on velkoz sup and im very happy with it.
i also adapted building death harvester on almost all my games (except against heal comps because liandrys+morellos synergy is better there most of the time). one thing i noticed on your build guide is the boots recommendation. Every time i buy sorc boots i regret it because they are so expensive and i feel like swifties or lucidity are a better budget choice for support.

Have you considered Ghost on APC? IMHO, Vel'Koz has a really good kit to use Ghost both, offensively and defensively if either side ganks.

i usualy take gathering storm over scorch even as suport and i seems is more usefull in most of the games is scorch better then gathering storm ?

I wonder why you haven't been contacted by HappyChimeNoises as of yet. You could play Vel'Koz pretty much anywhere except for Jungle (Obviously), and yet you still have an optimized idea for what you're doing.

We don't get when a lot of Champions in League where can just pick that Champion and it doesn't matter what role you're in.
