It’s a shame that reporters and anchors can be so under prepared. It’s been fairy well documented that democrats have tried to play leverage games over spending and low enforcement reform and Republicans have been fairy open to the conversation even if not 100% in alignment, which is fine - we have to find that “common ground” and move on that first. Tim Scott is a pretty sturdy individual, plenty of character, integrity, and isn’t blowing smoke or padding the buck. I appreciated his interview here and the anchor needed to get out of the way on a couple occasions to let him offer a complete response and not try and pile on assertions/low-key criticisms.

We’re in a major inflation rise - worst we’ve seen in a decade or so, maybe much longer (haven’t seen the long term reports as of this moment), and we have headlining crisis after headlining crisis under Biden. Trump’s crisis was COVID and press attacks, Biden is wading in real-world crap storms, many of which he’s creating by being asleep at the wheel and misguided. It’s no wonder why his approval ratings plummeted so suddenly. He’s on track to be the most unpopular president of my lifetime if he keeps his current path according to polling data.

Considering how the GOP have been treating law enforcement around the Jan 6th insurrection, it's a little disingenuous for this particular Republican to be arguing for more funding and less oversight as if they are the arbiters of what the people want in terms of change in the way the police are managed.
