How to Install RAM Drive on Windows 10

A RAM disk sounds like a weird concept, but it makes sense. Your RAM is technically faster than most SSDs, making it a viable if volatile way of running certain software. It can lead to faster load times, faster read/write speeds, and generally faster performance. The catch is that when you shut down your PC, the data on your RAM disks get lost, so you need to back up often, but it's definitely worth trying out.

Is there a way to redirect the Chrome caching to a ram drive? If I run the file search program "Everything" and sort by recent files, I see Chrome constantly writing cache files whenever it runs. I'd sure like to put them in a ramdrive instead.

You didn't tell us HOW we ROUTE software TO the RAM Drive...Does it read from an installation on another drive... or do we have to install our application onto the ramdisk itself?!

My nvme is basically on par with my memory. It's a gen 4, 7gb/s Samsung nvme
