One of your videos showed a drill where at address you turn your lead foot more toward the target (say, 45 degrees) and then turn your hips slightly toward the target. From this position, you execute the shot. This moves the lead hip out of the way, and makes it so much easier to transfer your weight to the front foot, allowing the club to find the slot without thought. I took this to heart and so long as I maintain the lag through the shot, this makes the golf swing so much easier for this 70 year-old body. Every ball goes straight with very little effort. No need for a big back turn. So much so, that I've now adopted this "drill" as my everyday swing. So simple. Very little thought and consistent results. I do this with every club in the bag except the driver. Thank you for that one drill. It has changed my game all for the better.

Full of insight into how to utilize vertical ground force through a flexed rear leg in the backswing. Very helpful in understanding sequence and why people stand up in the backswing and a recipe on how to fix it.

Hi Russell,

Can you do a series of videos on uneven lies ? e.g., below your feet, above your feet, sidehill lies.

Russell, how about something for fairly decent ball strikers (say 10 handicap) who suddenly start shanking mid irons—say a 6-iron—for no seeming reason? It can suddenly happen even when the previous iron shot was nailed. It is a brain-exploding, soul-destroying experience, and although I can work myself out of it, I seemingly don't know why this happens out of freaking nowhere. Your videos and tips are wonderful.

This is me! I rotate hip way too much and too early and I dip my head significantly down during takeaway which causes me to eventually raise back up address height to have some chance of hitting the ball. makes for way too much movement.. no wonder I'm so inconsistent! Any tips to change this early takeaway head dip? I've tried everything and it's so ingrained I don't realise it.
I tried to "feel" that I'm raising up during backswing but it barely changed it. Need to overexagerrate. Thanks
