I have been successfully involved in retailing for 45 years and must say John Lewis does not have a clue in promoting the John Lewis brand. Give me twelve months and I will restore this once amazing respected brand.

'Retailer launches anticipated festive ad.' Or so it says on the thumbnail itself. Who? Who anticipated this exactly? I honestly don't care if it's woke or misandrist or whatever, because I avoid adverts where I can. Bigger issue is when it comes out. It's only the middle of november. I saw one ad on october 24th. The fact that retailers ram xmas down out throats so incessantly and for so long beforehand really kills the spirit of the season.
