The only part of my eye exam that is not covered by Medicare is the part where they determine what your prescription should be, so roughly $40. Now I do have eye disease, so maybe that's why just that part is excluded. Also want to mention that Medicare does not cover the laser option for cataract surgery, only the original style surgery, even if the doc recommends it. It's an all or nothing. You can't just pay the extra for the cost of the laser. You have to pay the whole thing.
