Our knockdown ceiling installation process: General guideline

If you’re thinking about making that transition from popcorn to knockdown the process includes the following:

1 Cover/protect walls and floor

2. If previously textured, wet texture and remove with scraper.

3. Spot prime and repair drywall seams where necessary.

4. Apply knockdown texture, start with a smaller orifice spray gun for the first wave and a larger orifice for the 2nd wave. Knockdown after is had a chance to set up a bit.

5. Apply paint. In most cases you'll need to back roll.

6. Clean-up. Remove wall plastic first and fold the floor plastic into itself to contain debris.
