There's such an odd joy in watching someone who doesn't play videogames, but knows music, listen to a videogame song and give their professional opinions, and make predictions on how the song works in the game, base on their perception. Loving this content, subscribing for more.

there is also a version of this song in the game, where the melody is played mostly on Cello. The whole thing immediately takes on an incredible atmosphere :)

P.T Adamczyk just did a Masterpiece with the whole OST, now with the new Phantom Liberty, that man is just setup for the Cyberpunk world music.

Played Cyberpunk 2077 for over 190 hours. Completed it three times in three different ways. Listening to this makes me want to play it all over again.

"When I'm talking transformers I'm talking like in a electric bolts, right" Uh.. Sure.. Yes! That's exactly what I was thinking of.

Yes, this one is soo good. So a little background:
This piece is actually played in various ways in the game. Most of the time, in shootouts, like when you have to shoot some bad guys. Also, this is a theme song! This is the theme of Johnny Silverhand, a fictional punk-rocker, like a really shitty, selfish but badass person played by the one and only Keanu Reeves! He even nuked an office building in the middle of a city!
Anyway, this has many variations in the game, my favorite is at the ending, where it mixes with another theme from the game and has like electronic cellos (if that's a thing), real chilling at that moment!!!
I was waiting for you to react to this, and I'm not disappointed!

The really cool thing about that beat you highlight is about as long as the reload animation of Johnny's pistol. The pistol itself has a very throaty, powerful blast when you shoot it, so it acts like extra percussion, and the beat in the background syncs with each time you reload, making the entire sequence feel incredibly slick and cool!

One of my favs from the game. Listening to this track during that mission with Johnny Silverhand was just amazing.
Edit: this track plays when you're on a mission to nuke an evil corporate building basically.

Recently re-downloaded the game for the expansion and holy this song hits so hard when you're playing as Johnny Silverhand assaulting the Arasaka Building.

Cyberpunk 2077 has an incredible soundtrack that often gets overlooked, or is only seen at a surface level. The thought put into the soundtrack is so deep and complex, the music in this game almost becomes both a character and a storytelling avenue itself. Nearly every character, faction, major event, and emotion has their own leitmotifs, soundscapes, and instruments tied to them.

The genius comes from how these can be blended together. Playing one faction's leitmotif using the instruments and soundscape of a character not normally affiliated with them can tell the story of conflict between those two entities using only audio. Taking a theme that has normally been very upbeat and full of energy, bringing it down, using a different soundscape and adding some somber vocals can tell the story of regret and reflection on past actions.

The music in this game is so powerful and so closely intertwined with the world and the characters that players can form visceral emotional reactions to some of the music, like reliving a traumatic event or nostalgia of time spent with a friend no longer here. Absolutely brilliant work. I can't praise this game and it's music enough.

At 2:22 we can see the purebred reaction in its natural form. I remember like it was yesterday when the preorder for CP2077 arrived, I remember how I clearly felt the butterflies in my stomach the moment this musical gem started.

There's also a cello version of this track. What's fascinating about videogame ost, is that it adapts and changes as you play. Also the composers here use a lot of latemotifs and it makes even bigger impact as you hear your protagonist's theme gets progressively more electronic as the cyberghost inside your head slowly taking over your mind.

Even if you don't play video games, Cyberpunk's soundtrack is one you can rock out to no question.

EDM is very not my type of music, but the OST music from Cyberpunk is so good. Love it. It really hypes me up.

I am SO happy we're checking this out. Cyberpunk has got such a future/retro wave vibe. Its literally like 80s technology extrapolated to a century later. The dystopian futuristic environment is such a good pairing with this kind of sound.
Edit: Jeebs youre nailing the analysis, pointing out parts of the track in cross-section like that really makes me feel like youre understanding the music haha

Very cool thing about this song is, since it's basically the theme song for rockerboy Johnny Silverhand (frontman of the band Samurai) throughout the game, it uses a leitmotif from one of Samurai's songs called The Ballad of Buck Ravers. The main melody that comes in around 2:44 is actually the opening riff of The Ballad of Buck Ravers! Cyberpunk 2077 actually makes great use of leitmotifs from Samurai tracks. You can hear melodic references to The Ballad of Buck Ravers, Chippin In, and Never Fade Away pretty much everywhere in the OST of the game. It's SO COOL

I'm really glad the Grammy's have added a video game music category. Some of the best compositions now are on gaming soundtracks and it's about time those composers got recognition for their craft.

This song only kicks on in the most chaotic and violent parts of the game, when your character is doing absolute maniac maneuvers that are gonna land them in the history books

He should have listened to the Cello version! I have that set as my ringtone and I don't think I'll ever get sick of it.
