I was curious about a container home and saw this video. I think it's beautiful but then i checked out the link and saw the home price. How is almost 300k justify living in a shipping container? Just feels like a really bad idea to pay that much to live in a shipping container.

It seems that the cost for this container home is higher than the cost for a traditional stick home ... given that:
A roof and a frame are built around the exterior of the containers; which costs about the same as a frame and a roof for a traditional stick home,
All openings like windows and doors will need steel reinforcement; which costs more than the wood framing of an opening for a traditional stick home.
That then begs the question of what's the advantage of a container home.

I like this shipping container it's got big front room it's got a pretty decent kitchen with a washer and dryer in a tall refrigerator master bedroom is Awesome with The Walking bathroom I like that a lot yeah the bathroom is good they could have had a garage with it that way for the garage to be my recyclable area when I recycle cans then I can cash them in for extra cash that will also be cool but like I said this ship a container is pretty awesome
