Powercreep in Genshin Impact; How bad is it?

Can't wait until we get 5 star Bennett and Xiangling. Doesn't have to be a powercreep but instead more like a Xinqui Yelan situation where the units can also be used together and separately.

I think the conclusion you made is spot on. The powercreep in Genshin certainly exists, but we’ve seen time and time again there be new units, sets, weapons, etc released that give more relevance to old characters—allowing them to still compete with the newer ones. Worrying about power creep is pointless honestly. Just pick characters you like and enjoy playing, and build strong teams around them. The game has already shown that it will likely never get so hard that you will just be literally unable to clear with any specific character.

1:00 Kazuha just does more grouping versus fat enemies though, which are spammed in this abyss. The infusion aspect and damage boost is a bonus on top of the fact that large riftwolves wont ignore you.

Venti just gets used less now even in mobbing scenarios as seen by international and Nillou/Neuv.

2:00 Yae's use case scenarios are just stronger, albeit more expensive. (Haithem spread just dumpsters any fischl agg or yoimiya team lets be very honest)

2:25 Most new players don't have an obligatory c6 XQ before a yelan. XQ has his advantages over her still but as an account grows stronger many top meta comps simply dont use XQ anymore. And no yelan with Hu Tao IS more damage I'd watch Hu Tao TC Jstern on that one. The inconsistent vapes dont amount to actually less damage on a well built Tao comp.

2:55 Nilou teams don't need XQ to be beyond comfy I'm not sure that was a good example. She's one of the few units who can run two healers at the same time. Kok kinda diffs XQ in that team for both comfort and damage. (through seeds)


5:00 Ganyu melt is not really remotely good these days for your assumed playerbase. You need to be a tryhard CN speedrun to get that team to even beat Nahida hyperbloom. Not sure Ayaka is losing anything there by not being good at a bad melt team.

5:10 I don't think Hu Tao plunge is hard to play even for casuals thanks to Xianyun so Yoimiya doesnt even really have comfort for half the damage.

5:40 Lynney not only does infinitely more damage but the idea that he takes all your valuable units means so much less when an account uses dendro (that element that doesnt use kazuha bennet or XL and is OP for low investment) Lynney is less flexible sure but not in a way that means he isnt at least minor powercreep.

6:30 Yea idk man Nilou bloom and international now use a dps Neuv instead of childe (on field) or ayato for faster clears. I think your focusing too much on the roles and less on the fact that Neuv teams just kinda dunk on Ayato and Childe teams across the board, making it hard for players to justify pulling anyone besides Neuv for an on field damage or driving role. (Even Ayato's off field burst is worse in Nilou then on field Neuv)

I don't really care about the powercreep argument itself I just think you fibbed on each individual point a little to make your larger argument work.

I agree that elemental reactions and proper team comps really help in slowing down powercreep in the game. It still exists, but it is a lot less concerning than what many people think.

Actually it’s been proven that Chiori does slightly more damage than Albedo if she only has one doll out and significantly more damage than him with two dolls out. Albedo still has a bit of relevance if you want the EM buff though but for most use cases in double or triple geo teams Chiori will perform better than Albedo. The construct doll restriction was essentially to keep her from completely eclipsing him in every possible team with another geo unit in them when both are C0

"compare to the 4star at c6" you lost me here.

i don't agree at all. The rest is okay, but you really can't compare a c6 char with a c0, being a 4star or 5star.

i would argue comparing most important constelation other than C6 is the real way to compare.
