Almost every single "power creep" you mentioned is not even a power creep bc they either A) fill completely different roles, or B) are not powercrept in the first place. The only truly powercrept one here is Barbara but most importantly the one you didn't even bothered to mention, Albedo who is worthless bc of Chiori

Don't agree with some of the takes here.
Fischl is better than Yae in pretty much everything;
Xingqiu and Yelan are pretty much the same, Yelan does a bit more damage and Xingqiu applies more hydro and has defensive utility;
Clorinde powercreeping Raiden? No, Clorinde is at most a powercreep to keqing, and not by much.

Powercreep is indeed real, but the characters that were powercrept still have such a good kit that you can still choose them over the better one either for saving pulls or character preference. This is one of the reasons I love this game's "balance"

I think one of the only character that havent been powercrept so far in zhongli. he is the best shielder and pretty easy to build (one of his best weapons is a 3 star and in his artifact domain u can just use his shield to kill the geo things like u dont even need a dps for that).

the only person close to him is layla and the difference is still significant. there are more shielder 5 stars but they are not close to the pure shield strength that zhongli is.

The difference between Hu Tao and arlechino is so small that it is not a power creep, and c6 Hu Tao is still far superior to arlechino at any constellation anyway
