I've been drinking Coca-Cola on a daily basis for almost 50 years, I love it. As far as I can tell, it has not had any negative effect on my health. I wouldn't recommend anyone drink as much coke as I do, nor would I discourage them from drinking Coca-Cola in moderation.
I can tell you though, after drinking Coke for half a century, it has absolutely, without a doubt, changed in regards to taste. Sure, it's still sweet, but not the same sweetness. The flavor is a lot more diluted too, Not even remotely like it used to taste in the 70's and the flavor is definitely different depending in what container it is in. Cans are by far the weakest when it comes to flavor, then those horrific plastic bottles of all sizes. Glass bottles tend to more closely resemble the Coca-Cola of long ago. But still, a far cry from what it used to be.

Thankfully CocaCola is sweetened with natural sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup where I live in the South Pacific, it’s crazy that the USA is the origin of CocaCola and also the worst producer in the world due to cheap sweeteners

Been drinking regular Coke (with sugar) for 50 years, not overweight and I don't have diabetes. Coke is my # 1 fixer-upper for many ailments - in my 20's and after too many hard parties, waking up the next morning with a headache and hangover, I would crack open a cold coke to give me almost immediate recovery. If I ever have a stomach ache, feeling faint, feeling nauseous, feeling dizzy, feeling bilious and feel badly sick then Coca Cola (with sugar) immediately gets me feeling normal again. Go outdoors where there are lots of ants, pour a coke with sugar on the floor and immediately see it full of ants. Pour a diet coke with artificial sweetener and the ants will avoid it like the plague. Ants know what's best...just so you know.

High fructose corn syrup may be the el cheapo ingredient in the USA but it isn’t in the rest of the world. We still use real natural sugar in Australia and we are not unique in that.
