If you're new to a low fat, whole food, plant-based way of eating, we understand the concern. Because you probably have done your research. And now you know that fat-soluble vitamins — vitamins A, D, E, and K — are most abundant in fat-rich foods and are absorbed way better by your body if eaten with fat. Or maybe you've heard about vegans' potential risk of vitamin A deficiency. This is since preformed vitamin A (the form easier for the body to utilize than whole foods' provitamin A) is only found in animal products. So, how much of this is true? And what about vitamin k and other vitamins?

Here's Dr. Michael Klaper to reconcile these facts so you don't have to worry about getting enough nutrients when eating a low fat, whole food, plant-based diet.

Considering the high value of the vitamin E RDA, I am concerned that WFPB eaters who abstain from nuts and seeds altogether are deficient in vitamin E according to current guidelines. I have yet to come across any discussion of this.

but plants and vegetables have pre-vitamin A and not Retanol, and a very low % become Retanol and you need a healthy liver for that and that's not common
