Thank you for this video explaining this to the masses!! As an Italian my family used to own olives trees and I always had only olive oil produced by my family. Since my grandparents died and the family farm was sold I have been talking to everyone about single origin olive oil as being worth the slightly higher price tag because it does make a difference!!!

Tip for those who buy olive oil or avocado oil. If you go to TJ Maxx in their specialty food aisle, they often have single origin avocado oil and EVOO usually from Italy, Spain or Greece and they usually have huge bottles of it for between $9 and $15 depending on the brand. It's a really great deal if you're looking for high quality oil. It's an odd place to buy cooking oil but give it a try!

I do quality assurance for a major food producer and we have to send olive oil to a lab for authenticity testing. There's a huge problem with people cutting olive oil.

Avacado oil is more neutral tasting and has a much higher smoke point making it better for nearly any use.
