TL;DR: I ordered a Spectrum in January, and am still waiting (so are people who ordered before me), and the Eve support situation is truly miserable. Do not recommend. For your own sanity, stay away until Eve can work through all their backlog and maybe get their shit together.


I pre-ordered the Spectrum in late January, with a message a few days later telling me that my monitor was ready to ship, asking me to pay to finalize my order. Standard shipping, 15-28 or so days.

Well a couple days later I get an email saying they were having some issues and that shipping was "expected to happen mid-February." No big deal, I don't mind waiting an extra half a month for this monitor.

Half a month comes and goes, with no word at all from Eve about my shipment. At this point, I'm obviously getting concerned about the silence, and turn to the Eve forums to see what's up. Right away, I see one of the most recently updated, most posted in threads called Shipping Update, and the discourse going on in there is essentially exactly what you'd expect. Everybody's pissed that there's no clarity about these orders. There's one single Eve "Customer Engagement Leader" guy who occasionally posts in there with vague messages like "Should be shipping this week." Except those messages are happening week after week, with no signs of anybody getting their monitors.

So come March we get a new update on the forums, saying that orders should be shipped out by the end of March. Again, none of this is being emailed to anybody, so if you aren't lurking this specific forum thread you're in the dark about all of this. Oh, but don't worry! Because in mid-March, they break the email silence by sending out six emails in six days, all of them advertising their BRAND NEW Glossy Spectrum! Wow! Despite the fact that pretty much nobody has gotten their orders yet! Naturally, this causes the forums to erupt in further anger, with a number of people threatening to refund their orders, and a handful more talking about how they actually did ask for refunds. Of course, "asked" is the key word here, because people don't really seem to be able to get through to Eve support right now. A good chunk of the people who got refunds commented that they had to go through their bank to get it done.

Anyways, presently there are a number of people who are finally getting their monitors, which is great and all, but those are all the people who payed a heavy premium on express shipping. There are still people who ordered back in December (and pre-ordered much before that) who have not heard so much as a peep from Eve. I've written a few emails to support asking about the status of my monitor but heard nothing back. Seriously, the last actual email I got about the order that I placed was at the beginning of February, which was the generic email they sent out saying shipping would resume after two weeks. Even the Customer Engagement Leader has been silent on the forums these past couple weeks. Like, I know you need to give some priority to the people who ordered express, but holy moly you gotta fill those standard orders, too.

Basically the only reason anybody is still on board is because all signs point to the monitors being fantastic, and for me personally it checks off a lot of boxes in terms of performance, design, price, size, and aesthetic that currently no other monitor can match, and I'm pretty picky about this. Like, I don't mind waiting for my monitor, but the whole experience of being repeatedly lied to and left in the dark about everything, all of this AFTER they ask you to finalize your payment by saying "your Spectrum is ready to ship!" It's just disgusting. Had I known this would be my experience, I would definitely have looked elsewhere.

Ughhh why couldn’t a reputable manufacturer make this??? It’s everything I want in a monitor except for the shitty gamble of customer service

Heh. you're right about that. I ordered mine in September and still waiting. The best nothing-burger in the world is still a nothing-burger. Then they try to get me to cough up another $100 for an "upgrade" to the upcoming glossy version that isn't even in production yet. Lol.

Can’t wait to see your Apple Studio Display and Eve comparison! Might have to cancel my pre-order for Eve. But the refresh rate and ability to hook up a gaming console on the Eve 🤔🤔

usb c on eve support only 10gigabits per second for 4k 144hz you will need 35 gigabit per second bandwidth, how are you using mac with 4k 144 hz?

This looks to be a great display, however for macOS a 5k or 6k just works better. Maybe it’s the scaling? I wished more displays would do 5k or 6k outside of Apple.

OMG, my OCD was in high gear!! Your arm was leaning right on the USB C cable on the Macbook Pro!! I couldn't stop watching in horror waiting for you to lean on it so hard that it would bend and break the port.

Playing COD in 4k at 120 FPS is DIFFERENT! I also consume a lot of content and do audio engineering so it’s just really nice to have a super clear display that doesn’t strain my eyes cause I’m at a desk a lot. Plus all the connections is just a BONUS and the color accuracy is really well! Can’t really spot a difference between the Eve and my 14 in M1 Pro MacBook display

I strongly urge all YouTubers to remove all videos endorsing Dough (formally known as Eve) due to their track record failure to deliver promised products, and their refusal to provide refunds. It is essential to ensure viewers are not misled or inadvertently support a company with such concerning practices no matter how many times they had re-branded themselves.

Non-retina is a non-starter for me. Agree that the LG UltraFine is deeply flawed in many ways. But the retina resolution is not one of them. I’ll take that over the color management every time.

I ordered this display 3 months ago and finally cancelled my order because it still hasn’t shipped. Looks like the perfect display but worthless if I have to wait 6 months to get it. If my Best Buy had these I’d buy two

Hi, i have 144hz monitor and the new M2 Macbook Pro, but when i tried to connect to the monitor, i can only set to 120hz and not to 144hz, can you help me ?

I’d rather get this than the studio display which is only 60hz and only allows you to plug in one device whereas this you can switch between multiple

I've read about the Eve but the 'customer service' would put me off straight away. Also, I'm in the UK so I doubt it's available here. As for whether I'd buy one given how Apple keep upping specs in a chaotic way, I'll wait until they've sorted themselves out and then look.
