How to Fix Exposure Changes EASILY - Pro Tutorial for Beginners

I'm a colourist with 25 years broadcast experience (BBC amongst many). This episode shows you how to fix exposure and white balance changes that occur within a shot using the DaVinci Resolve OFX - Color Stabilizer. For Beginners to Intermediate users.

This is an excellent video, Darren. When filming slightly longer takes outdoors the fluctuation in light levels can be a great problem due to passing clouds. This tutorial would be great help in correcting changes in exposures. A big thank you.

Love the new angle and look! Thanks for this, had no idea about colour stabiliser and immediately have a shot I can use it on. In general, since you’re asking, I find the colour space discussions really helpful and overlooked by most people discussing colour in DR. I personally have questions about getting the most out of non-pro displays (in my case a PD3200U) in terms of DR settings and display modes (Rec709 vs sRGB). There are a million ‘grading’ tutorials but not so many guides addressing correct setup of the ‘boring stuff’. Cheers!

Amazing, used it for an interview where it was lit by a sun on a cloudy windy day, therefore a lot of exposure changes and also on an interview where I left WB on auto and it kept messing around with green values. Worked like a charm.

Great vid, Darren! Yeah I think we would like a vlog style "in your life" video. Following your latest work grading a documentary for Channel 5 I would be interested to learn on how you work with multicam clips inside resolve or coming from other nle's, also it would be very interesting if you were allowed to take us on a deep dive showing how you graded this particular documentary, node structure, color management etc.

I would like to Thank you Darren for making this tutorial ! its exactly what i needed.
I use to have painful experience in Premiere Pro with this subject (adding adjustment layer to balance the dark area and highlights manually keying on moving shots ) and Resolve is just couple clicks away and your done.
