There was Roman soldier military gear or some other long gone civilization found under retreating ice in the Alps not to long ago. So the ice cover must have been less at that point as well.

1:58 Absolutely! Climate change caused me to stub my toe so hard on the step today because climate change caused the concrete to become so hot on my bare footsies. Climate change truly is effecting all of us in countless climate change ways. When climate scientists claimed glaciers were melting everywhere, many conservative scientists said that was wrong because nobody had actually gone out and measured the retreat of every glacier. Climate scientists haven't found one that isn't retreating yet.
