So for anyone who’d actually like to continue to use the run out sensor, the enclosed chamber, etc. just get a Capricorn Bowden Tube and replace the stock one
johnbrooks
I always change the feed line for a 3 mm i.d., 4 mm o.d. PTFE tube and it works without a problem. Actually, the infamous supersoft Ninjaflex feeds consistently through it.
FeralEngineer
I think the 3d printing community hasn't yet realized that sometimes it's best to leave things stock until they actually break.
shamancredible
always use a 3mm ID 4mm OD reverse bowden tube. it is there to guide the filament to the direct drive extruder, doesn't need to restrict side to side movement
OvidiuBuleandra
Without a reverse bowden the extruder is going to want to pull the entire toolhead upwards any time there's resistance from the filament spool. This leads to premature wear and also causes layer inconsistencies in prints. You can get away with it on slow machines, but the faster you print the more important it becomes!
technicallyreal
Thanks for sharing your brilliant idea bro.
sonnyevent
Just get 3mm ID tube, there's a really good reason why you should have a reverse bowden on these printers.
mocotonio
Are you sure this issue is still present on new printers? Mine doesn't look like this, I think they fixed the problem.
midclock
Not much of a mod. Avoiding features that allow Creality to charge more while also creating more work for the consumer hardly sounds like a benefit at all.
kylegarcia
Is in possible to remove the filament sensor and please it in another place?
technikboy
This is an awesome idea. I will be trying this ASAP
jessiejames
It's hilarious reading these messages and people bagging 3D printers. Lol
jayson
Can you but the plastic on top with no essuie to print abs ada etc?
rafaelkyriakou
I would see those issues but it is Day 23 and still waiting for it.😂
Maxtomator
So you lose the ability to replace the filament before ruining your project, . but you get to hang the spool above the printer... and somehow this fixes a fictitous filament intake problem. No thanks.
HappyBuddhaBoyd
Now it is losing the benefit of 'enclosed chamber design' and becoming ender looking thing.
jl
this is an extremely bad idea, due to how the printer will yank the filament with some movements, and not others, causing bad vibrations.
morbus
That’s honestly a horrible idea! No the printhead yanks on the filament very hard and quickly causing the filament to most likely break after the runout sensor and not to mention it being pulled while printing will cause quality issues and did I mention possible motor skipping as well🤦🏻♂️
Tinkerer
A printer that expensive shouldn't need mods to work.
wilurbean
Not even a month in and people already need to start fixing the knockoff.
