All trailing locomotives are controlled from the leading locomotive by connecting two or more locomotives together, it is called multiple unit locomotive. All trailing trailing locomotives are controlled from the leading locomotive. MCB CIRCUIT BREAKER OF GF circuit breaker is also kept OFF and ECS is kept on RUN In case locomotive is MPCB then EPG governor is kept on OFF and MU2B VALVE is kept on trail or dead BP cut out of leading locomotive is kept open mu2B VALVE will be kept on lead and all four circuit breakers of both the control stands will remain on ECS will remain on RUN In case locomotive is MPCB then SWITCH of EPG governor will be kept ON

#Railway update
Multiple locomotives work together using a series of cables between the locomotives that provide an electric current, keeping the trailing locomotives in sync with the leader. This is performed by a 27-pin connector, that attaches between locomotives in the consist, as well as air hoses controlling the braking system.
The Short Answer. Trains have multiple engines to provide more power to pull the train. Each locomotive has a certain amount of pulling power (called “tractive effort”), which is related to how many horsepower the diesel engine in the locomotive has.
Trains are typically defined as one or more locomotives coupled together, with or without cars. A collection of rail vehicles may also be called a consist.
