We have a Wing Chun vs MMA match, and two Wing Chun vs Kickboxing matches. The first one is from Malyasia and was on a card that Brooklyn Monk headlined in. That match featured Chan Man Kong (also written as Man Chan Kong) against an MMA person named Sunil Raj. Let's see how Chan Man Kong could use his Wing Chun against Sunil! After that, we should look at Man Up Stand Up (MUSU) and a match between a very talented Wing Chun artist and a kickboxer. Finally, we look at a sparring session under MMA rules of a Wing Chun guy vs kickboxer. Very great footage from a variety of sources! Make sure to find the links to the original videos in the pinned comments!

We're starting to see more and more of these wing Chun guys figuring out how to make it work. It's awesome!

These fights are significantly more entertaining with simultaneous commentary.

Nice, they did surprisingly good with mostly chain punches and front kicks. The second one knew how to intercept round punches too without losing the posture, very nice.

So the second Wing Chun vid is from Sifu Herkul. He's definitely legit, comes from William Cheung's lineage. Commenters have given him flak because of that vid where JKD "Waldo" got whupped, but Sifu Herkul is legit. OG Brooklynite 🙏🏽

grappling is important as it neutralizes blows adding to the wing chun may be able to become effective.

in all 3 fights WC seemed to be doing well was because all 3 fighters were taller and had a longer reach; not dissing the art, just stating the obvious.

Fight #1: SMH at the sifu who asked his WC fighter to stick to only WC for the MMA fight. "Be water, my friend."

Fight #2: the WC fighter deserves great credit for keeping his technique and composure against a live opponent. something we don't see happen very often. the way he timed and executed his parries and chain punching was among the best i've seen.

Fight #3: this was just a friendly sparring match between kids, but good showcase nonetheless. (the 'kickboxer' might not have kicked as much as he should could be due to injuries or other reasons, we'll never know)

conclusion: the first 2 guys deserve to be in the spotlight carrying WC's flag much more than the so called WC "masters" like Ding Hao and Co from China. all clowns

It's interesting that I'm not seeing a chorus of "that's not real wing chun because that wasn't kickboxing." Were these wing chun guys all fakes because they didn't just use kickboxing? Apparently, any time you kick and punch you just turn into a K1-esque kickboxer, so I'm unclear on why I'm seeing a distinct, unique style here.

the footwork of the 2nd guy...was great, one of the best illustrations of footwork in WC I have seen in sparring/combat

from this second fight, we can see that the problem is not the martial art, but each individual's natural fighting IQ.

In high school I got sucker punched in the back of the head, and I learned 2 things that day, never turn your back at your opponent, getting hit in the back of the head will either knock you cold or bring the most dangerous part of you locked in some dungeon in you mind. Needless to say my opponent never ushered my name or looked me in the eyes forever and never bumped into him at school. That situation could of gone very wrong as when the guy hit me everything was in slow motion and everything went white for a couple of seconds, when I snapped from the confusion, a beast was awoken and seriously managed some amazing strength speed and ability against my attacker.

@3:54. The camera man was so bored of the fight that he started to watch the soccer match on television.

A few years ago wing chun fighters were annihilated but they are starting to adapt.
