A lovely species the Small Pearl Bordered Fritillary, it is hard to understand how they survive with their very lethargic habit, but it is nice to see them close up like this, the Beech tree is fantastic, that must have blown down over 70 years ago looking at the new growth, stay safe! Chris B.

Great video. I love how you opened with a slow sweeping shot of the beautiful English scenery, and finished with a similar shot too, which completed a really enjoyable look at British nature, with those amazing trees and that perfect little butterfly. Thank you.

A real beauty, the color and pattern. Great slow-motion shots. Butterflies are so rewarding to observe. I added more host and native plants last year and got great results, summer can't get here soon enough to enjoy the show! Thanks for featuring these butterflies on you channel.

Those trees are stunning - they could be a tourist attraction on their own! What a gorgeous butterfly too.

Excellent, very cool looking butterfly. Pity people more don’t spend a bit more time to look and see what’s around them.

What beautiful countryside... I love the fallen over trees! Such a pretty little thing-definitely worth the effort to find it. My Father taught me to walk slowly, quietly and look around you... amazing what you will see if you take the time to

Happily photographed them twice, once in the New Forest and once on Cannock chase. Stunning butterfly, fabulous film. Those trees too, just wow!

Joel what a stunning place, and your music choice is so beautiful too. How super to capture SPBFs in their glory. Thanks for this lovely glimpse of your holiday, especially nice for those of us who can't get away this year! 🦋❤️

Cheers from Nashville, Tennessee. We enjoy each of your episodes and have been inspired to wild our garden by your philosophy. It’s a good work that you do.

This is fantastic my favorite video yet 💚💚 it reminds me of books I would read as a child just the images I had in my head of far away fairytale places. What a wonder!!! Thank you for sharing and God bless you all

Really enjoyed this; one of my favourite places and a gorgeous little butterfly. As you may know Arnside Knott is home to other even rarer butterflies: the high brown fritillary and the pearl-bordered fritillary. Amazing place.

Yay! Phoenix trees.. Good ones. I've always associated small pearl bordered fritillary with coppice (and woodland violets). But then I'm biased...

Amazing trees! And I saw the same butterfly this summer in Sweden. It's not considered rare here.

IT'S AUGUST 11TH 2024, THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT WE NEED, IN THESE WORRYING TIMES. i;VE ALWAYS LOVED BUTTERLIES AND \MOTHS. COLLECTED THEM S A BOY, IN THE LATE 1940'S TO MID 50'S, WHEN THEY WERE FAR MORE PLENTYFUL. I ALWAYS FOUND THE FRITILERIES HARD TO RECOGNISE, ONE SPECHY ? FROM ANOTHER, ESPECIALLY TOPSIDE UP.
