UPDATE: Google Search Console Index Coverage is now part of Page Indexing. Updated how-tos for Page Indexing can be found here:

If you are new to indexing or SEO, or have a small site, here's how to get started:

Decide whether you need to use this report. If your site has fewer than 500 pages, you probably don't need to use this report. Instead, use the following Google searches to see if key pages (or any pages) on your site are indexed. Examples:

Only if these searches return no results for your site and you are willing to spend the time to fully understand this report should you use the Page Indexing report to see why your site isn't indexed (see the troubleshooting section).

Hi I love your tutorial, so detail and clear. I wonder if you can help me. I don't have pages for clients account, wish list, check out page. All my 45 pages and 65 posts are proper contents relating to the products & services. I received the crowl error message for 212 pages with Submitted URL marked ‘noindex’. I don't want to take them away from site map. I wonder if this is YEAOST SEO doing the error ? If it is, do you have any advise on how to fix it? I have regularly updated YEOST SEO plugin. Thank you. Claire x

This is exactly what I was experiencing. My cart, checkout etc pages were being included in my sitemap. I can fix this but I imagine that people who are not geeks like us are going to be really confused by this. I wish that Yoast automatically kept these specific Woo pages out of the sitemap.

Thank you for your help. I actually use All in One SEO, but your explanation helps me. But I still don't understand if we exclude those pages on the index, does it mean it will not appear in google search engine?

All I understood, but why console marked the exampled page as a no indexed error and the same time in yoast was already set as index. Where the error came from? We did tell google to index by using Yoast right?

Thanks for this explanation on the new search console settings Tolga. What if the error that you speak of in this video is due to categories that are set to no-index in Yoast (to avoid duplicate content) and show up as an error? I see there is an option in Yoast for the category that says "Include in Sitemap?" - is it as simple as just selecting "never include?"

excelent! just one question. may be I missed it. After corrcting the site we press "validate fix"in search console?

Hey Tolga so wonderful to hear from you. Been worried hope all is good :)
I'm guessing since i took a peek at the new search console and it says that there are 442 excluded pages that that's not a good thing :(
pages with errors.
Had a feeling something was up when the 6 to 8 calls and 8 to 10 emails per day stopped suddenly.
So frustrating how google keeps changing things, just when things were going so very smoothly.
Again, i'm really happy to see you sharing your awesome wisdom again. Best Wishes and kindest regards

Hi great video! My case is that I have some EXCLUDED url's that are actually old url's that I have replaces with new url's, (these are mostly PAGES of my first version of my website). So, these appear as 404's in the excluded section. I don't want them appearing there at all since I don't want them to even be indexed. How do I fix that please any ideas? I don't want them to have a 301 either, cause they're obsolete, I changed the url altogether!

So I have 0 errors and 1, 760 excluded.I heard a blogger say you must redirect all your 404 pages or goggle will drop you in the rankings but in the new index they are not under error.

How many in the excluded do I need to fix or redirect or hide from google?

I am curious how the top websites google loves what there excluded looks like or do they make sure it is at 0? and hide or fix everything it puts there.

I dont use yoast I have a shopify store.

Sir I'm using blogger. Today I received a email from google console and said that Errors can prevent your page or feature from appearing in Search results. The following errors were found on your site:

"Submitted URL marked ‘noindex"

How can I fix it.
