Have a 6 week old, he's definitely a lot more irritable, but on the flip side, he's smiling, looking at things and paying far more attention to me and his mum. He just doesn't want to be put down sadly.

At 1:45 ! Can I just warn moms not to hold their babies without head support (like the woman in the video) I only did it once on the couch with my sleeping baby and she did a dive down backwards, in her sleep! Thank god we were on the couch so she didn't hit her head but if I sat with her (or stood) anywhere else she'd been crashing straight onto the floor. I see people carrying their children like this and it makes me so anxious, it's an accident waiting to happen.

My baby smiled from 5 days old ...I was always told 6 weeks will be the starting point for this..he is 6 weeks today and already giggling ...copying sounds I make and mirroring them back etc so glad I captured it all on video 😊

We have a 6 week old baby! He is smiling a lot. He is formula and breastfeeding. He sleeps a lot better on his tummy. We are not sleep deprived because we take turns rotating who gets up with him each night

Night is day and day is night. She sleeps most of the day after a bath only taking breaks to change and feed. She then wakes up at 10 p.m. and can go up to 6 a.m. mostly feeding during that time. She doesn't like to be put down. She wants to be held upright over the shoulder and taken for walks all through!

My 6 weeks old, smiles only in his sleep, though he has given couple of smiles when awake... But still waiting for the proper smile....

This video was terrific and “the good bad and ugly” sums up week six well. Not complaining tho, my beautiful girl has been sleeping through the night for the last 8-9 days. It’s been glorious! Breastfeeding is finally getting easier too. Mum and baby are very happy!

My little boy is 7 weeks now, and at week 6 he did show off his smile! He was 7 weeks premature so we didn't expect to see it at 6 week!

The smiles are so amazing and adorable!
Problem is 6 week old grandson only sleeps about 6 hours total in a 24 hour period.
Naps are only 45 minutes to 2 hours.
Is this normal?
He looks exhausted and wants to sleep but he only will fall asleep with nursing.
