For everyone asking when you E start it can be good for multiple reasons. Your E shreds armor so when you AA + Q after it will do more damage than reversed. Also against opponents with counters to your Q like Fiora, Jax, etc. Another really useful example is against Yasuo, start with E then when he has a fully stacked Q cancel your E and Q him to cancel his ult. Hope this helps.

You don’t wanna do this all the time but it works. Phase rush basic combo before whip goes auto Q E so that’s one way you can trade safely however it will be weaker after the phase rush nerf especially early game with long cds.

You can start Q always if its gonna be a short trade, to get them lower, but when youre looking for the finisher, aka when yiu wanna ult, not only E shreds armor so your Q and autoattscks after deal more damage, but silencing before ults is very important concept to have overall, so they cant flash, dash and most importantly use habilities to counter your ult (sivir E, fiora W, morde W if he has not used it yet and so on)
