First great job and explanation of details. Pushing paint for 20 yrs myself. And yes pig shell is my go to for any funky surface. I just finished doing a full 36 door kitchen cabinet set and yep all white. Lol

Just my opinion, but the cabinets should have been left alone.
They were stunning.
So much character, warmth and depth.
Beautiful wood, texture and colour.
Painting everything white is not always the best choice.

The initial color after single coated was really nice

I like the red glazing putty filler over the synthetic shellac. Finish w 2 coats of all surface enamel for a glass like finish!

I'm curious what tips are you using? I want to paint my cabinets and was thinking of using a FFLP or HVLP. Can't decide on a finish though so I'm open to an opinion.

Great job. This hurts my soul to see that beautiful wood get covered up. Cypress is protected too so it's harder and harder to produce something like that.

i enjoyed the info and believe the painter is good at their job. i don't understand how people these days think being in business for a few years puts them at expert status. is it because so many other businesses fail early? i get this from many subcontractors i have vetted, they think they are king but quickly prove they are not. i personally have 4 businesses including a one for just under 30 years and 27 employees. don't get me wrong, I've done well and know a thing or two about the mechanical industry but still am far from an expert.

Skip primer and simply paint. Do not give your client a warranty.
