Welcome back to Next-Gen Console Watch! This month marks the four-year anniversary of both the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X|S, so of course we're taking a look back at the past four years and grading how well both consoles did. Damn, Max suggesting Xbox over PlayStation? Seriously? The whole "free games" argument is hilarious. You need an Ultimate Game Pass subscription, not just the regular Game Pass—and guess what? That's the most expensive tier. It's far from free!

And what if money isn't an issue, or you don’t have endless time to game? Would you still prefer Xbox? Max, come on, stop hosting PlayStation Beyond if you're clearly not that into the PS5.

Sony has brought out many next gen exclusive games, innovating with new hardware (PSVR2, Portal) showing they are not afraid to try something new, brings out a new more powerful iteration of the PS5.

In what universe did this video come from??? They’re talking about PS5 like it’s this little crappy thing that is barely worth acknowledging.

Where have they been the past 4 years? I’m a fan of both consoles and hands down Xbox has been on a major decline. In fact most IGN Podcast unlocked episodes have been centered around the disappointment and downfall of Microsoft’s moves this generation. Are we forgetting Redfall, Halo Inifinites Launch, Hellblade???

No mentioning of the PS5 exclusives we DID GET. Spider-Man 2, Astrobot, Horizon Forbidden West, Silent Hill 2, Final Fantasy XVI, Stellar Blade, etc.

Where is the positivity in this video? Even for Xbox! Even when they talk about Gamepass they have lackluster energy. Do they even enjoy games? Where’s this excitement guys. Do better IGN. Drink coffee or something before making videos.

Xbox a B? 😂 Studio closures, no launch titles with the console, no first party titles in 2022 (I believe), horrendous marketing that is splitting their fan base, Phil caught in lies, Redfall debacle, missing out on BMW and getting Baldurs Gate late, etc.

IGN gets a D- for this video for completely misrepresenting the current state of consoles. Helldivers 2, Astro Bot and FFVII Rebirth are the best games this year and they are all console exclusive to PS. I thought you all would look at the actual software lineups with the ratings given. Also please consider giving Akeem Lawanson a shot at hosting Podcast Beyond! regularly if Max is always going to be extremely cynical about PS.
