Wow. This has been an amazing podcast. I can testify of what Dr. Nelson is saying true. As a veteran who retired after 23.5 years of service, I am going through a divorce. My coping mechanisms for PTSD and over 30 documented traumatic brain injuries were not healthy or alogned with my values. I was not the only one who sacrificed. It takes a toll on everyone in the family. After sharpening your skills to do violence on those that threaten our nation, after experiencing violence, and imposing violence on others, your soul is scarred. The challenges are real. This is why President Russell M. Nelson has urged us to be peacemakers and to repent daily.

I’m an active duty soldier with 16 years or service, very much looking forward to retirement and something much more creative and peaceful. This podcast has moved me to tears more than once today, and has given me several reasons to reflect. Thank you, you are doing the Lord’s work. God bless from Fort Wainwright, AK.

Follow Him is by far the BEST podcast for the Come Follow Me study. The variety of guests you invite brings depth to understanding the scriptures and relating their prophetic words to our current world and daily struggles. I always sing your praises to my friends and family in hopes they will glean as much from your remarkable teachings as I do. ♥

"Let's all get on the right path, get up and leave winter quarters and make our way to Zion!" I loved that. This was such a good episode and should be watched be everyone, especially anyone who has children still at home! Thank you so much!

Great lesson and focus on violence in our lives. My father too, left part of him on the battlefields of Italy in WWII- he suffered from PTSD all of his life. Thank you for reminding us of the sacrifices of so many and how we are to live our lives in the face of evil and violence. I have always felt 'sorry' for Mormon to have witnessed the end of his civilization and now I am even more indebted to him for his sacrifice and so very grateful for his example.Thank you for making him, his experiences, and teachings come to life!

I was able to share Dr. Nelson’s thoughts on anger with my son at a critical moment in his week. It made a significant impact on his actions and relationships. Thank you.

These chapters were so hard for me to read. I pondered, thought, imagined, and felt his words and his life; I cried. What an inspirational and special leader he was. This book is for us in these latter days, and we are supposed to take this message with us for our days. There is a lot of counsel for us to apply for our days. Thank you; it was a great podcast!

Larry, your perspective at 49:15 on parenting brings it all home. The progression of teaching children what is right and wrong, then as the grow older, teaching them why it’s right or wrong, and then as they mature even more allowing them to practice choosing between right and wrong. All done in an atmosphere or climate of love and warmth where relationships can flourish. Thank you!!

Thank you for including the complete show notes. When Dr. Nelson explained the mind of an introvert, it turned on a light bulb in my heart. My precious daughter-in-law is an introvert. She's tried to explain to me her needs but it wasn't till this podcast that I understood. I screenshot the show notes and sent it to her with a note telling her I now understand. We are both very grateful to Dr Nelson, and to you, Hank and John. Thank you so much!

An inspirational episode. His work in human development is SO relevant to the world we live in and all the people who are affected by wars all over the world. And the importance of choosing between "Yes, but they..." & "Yes, but I..."

Oh my GOODNESS this was an incredible episode!!! I SO appreciated Dr Nelson’s knowledge about violence and how it hardens us and does SO much spiritual damage. I feel like we live in a society that glorifies violence. Knowledge really is power, and people need to know these things!!!!

What an incredible episode! The “yes but they” phrase struck me to the core. Had a conversation last night and this phrase made the conversation crystal clear. I love the marinade analogy as well. Thank you for this very insightful episode 🙏🏾

I am teaching this Sunday. It has been a struggle start to finish. "It is not a pretty story" and I am so grateful to see Larry trying to keep it real as well as add his specific experiences with human behavior. I appreciate all of you and your amazing insights into this specific part of the book of Mormon. Thank you!!
