Gabby Petito’s family urges Brian Laundrie to turn himself in

The family of Gabby Petito and their attorney, Richard Stafford, spoke Tuesday about the case, two days after they held a public memorial service for the young woman whose disappearance and death made headlines nationwide. They asked Brian Laundrie, her fiancé who is a person of interest in the case, to turn himself in.

Stop saying the family isn’t showing enough emotion, they’ve already been grieving for two weeks, the all look depressed and disconnected which is a normal part of grieving. When you lose someone you don’t cry over them every single day forever. Leave the family alone and let them grieve.

FYI on the family unit. The bio-dad thinks the world of the step-dad. Step dad had been a Fire Chief. Step dad was the parent who went to the Tetons while they were searching for her body. Bio-dad said at the memorial that Gabby had FOUR parents who loved her very much. This is what step dad means by "we have a large family". Each of her parents have children with their new spouses and they all get along. Every family should have these qualities. God bless them all.

I feel so bad for Gabby's family for having to deal with this. I never met Gabby or her family but I do light a candle for her every night ever since I heard about what happened to her. I hope Gabby can Rest In Peace and her family can find peace and I pray they can have the strength to deal with this tough time. May GOD be with you!

i hope this case brings attention to the way abuse victims behave, so the police and the public and the courts won't KEEP getting it completely backwards and blame the victim. Every now and then we need to be made aware of DV and it seems we still have not learned how to prevent it. We had the Burning Bed movie in the 70's. But we act like it can't happen to anyone we know, or to us. We need to learn to see the subtle signs.

I have an idea for how this can help, helping police better identify the signs of domestic abuse and how to better handle situations. A new law, or new procedures by 911 and dispatch, a counselor is brought in for both the man and the woman after detained. Where did the break down in procedures happen?
