A 22-year-old Florida woman who set out on a cross-country road trip hasn't been seen or heard from for weeks, prompting family to report her missing, investigators said.

Now, her family is calling on her boyfriend to help find the 22-year-old. In a statement, the Schmidt and Petito family said her boyfriend "refuses to help."

Gabrielle Petito was last known to have been in Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming before losing communication, according to the Suffolk County, New York, Police Department. Her family, who lives on Long Island, reported her missing on Saturday, Sept. 11.

Petito is 5-feet, 5-inches tall and weighs 110 pounds, according to police. She has several tattoos, including one on her forearm that reads, "let it be."

It's her van? Charge him with theft and watch him squeak.

The boyfriends silence says EVERYTHING! If he was concerned about her whereabouts he would be speaking and helping all he could to bring her home. It's all very suspicious to me. The boyfriend gave me bad vibes watching their youtube video

lol, this is stupid. If I was her father, I would be knocking down that dudes door and getting the answers myself

Let me guess....She "accidently" fell off a cliff, he freaked out and ran. This is how all these terrible stories go. What a deadbeat guy. If I were her dad, I'd want 5 minutes in a locked room with that guy.

OK, her parents need to hire a PI, interview the couple that called the police & see the police report. AND bring a CIVIL SUIT against the boyfriend & his parents otherwise this is going to turn into a cold case ASAP.

As the father of a 22 yo daughter, I can assure you these kids are not nearly as worldly and independent as we were at that age - they are still kids. We have cell tracking for the whole family and they understand that it is for safety not to spy on them. It has come in handy, if not only for peace of mind on occasion. I feel very deeply for this family.

The mother of Gabby Petito says the boyfriend AND his parents ignored her desperate texts searching for her daughter even before she reported Gabby missing.

What suprises me is that nobody is staring the obvious: the guy stonewalling, unfortunately probably means Gabby is already deceased. What her family should do is organize a massive search where she was last seen with tons of volunteers, blood hounds and air coverage, I bet they’d find her remains. This is a well known game these types play, and all you have to do is catch dateline a few times a year, to know it. It goes: the longer he stalls the more likely wild animals, in a state or national park will, dispose of the remains. Or that’s the elements will do that or make dna impossible to retrieve. Or that at least things will be well worn enough to where it’s very difficult to contradict his version of events, with evidence, and his version will be “we got into a fight, she fell and hit her head, when I left she was still alive, I didn’t speak till way later because I was advised not to self incriminate, “now reduce my charge to manslaughter, and time served.” Juries often don’t buy this, but sometimes it works, especially if the charge is murder and it can’t be proved by what’s left of the evidence, look at Casey Anthony. I think the law should be changed to where they could be horsewhipped everyday until they “told what they knew.” I bet after 20 days they’d talk, or even one or two. Prayers for the family, this must be terrible for them.

The frustration this family must be feeling smh The only person who knows anything about where their daughter is, refuses to talk & it was someone they thought they could trust 💔 Idk how they’re holding up, but this is a parent’s worst nightmare

Can someone please explain what the "incidence" was that a couple saw & called the police on Her & her boyfriend? That should give some clue as to what was the problem between them. Anybody

He basically stole her van and left her in Utah. And possibly worse. He needs to turn himself in, his parents are low down. If my son showed up without his missing girl friend I would beat him until he talked, it’s just flat wrong of his parents to protect him, are they covering up a murder? Did their son murder those 2 women in Utah. Him and Gabby were at the same bar with the two women who got murdered on August 13th. If the police don’t feel that reason enough to question him they need to put their big boy boots on and get to questioning him, is he responsible for killing the two women? Did Gabby run from brain ? The parents need to stop protecting him, he’s not a little boy !
