I cover a lot of different English paper piecing and embroidery techniques in this video, which will enable you to make the jewel flower block of the sampler.
I show you how to glue baste EPP jewel shapes and stitch them together.
We talk about embroidering your shapes and I show you how to do lazy daisy stitch, French knots and stem stitch. Finally I show you how to do satin stitch.
I hope you enjoy this video and I will be back next week with the Autumn section.
Thanks so much for watching.

Just discovered these tutorials. So inspiring. Must have a go. You’re building my confidence that I could actually make something like this! Thank you for your excellent tutorials and inspiration. Please don’t be shy - lovely to see you (although I am exactly the same with things like that!). Lesley x.

Hi Emma..
You are a very clever and talented lady.. I've watched your videos with such pleasure..
You have given me the inspiration to 'go small'! I've done quilt using and patchwork for many years, and it was a delight to see the detail in such a miniature form..
You should be very proud!!
All best wishes for the future..
Lynda.

Lovely explanation of the stitches, I think perhaps Ashmead should put you on commission! Crafty hugs and stay safe

Hi Emma
Your work is perfection to me. I can see the passion and joy of every stitch you make. I am tucked up in bed watching you create and giving me inspo.
Emma what is the white fabric you are using please?
And does Aurafil do an embroidery floss, and you can separate the strands?

Emma you really are an excellent teacher. You make everything very clear and easy to understand and not all teachers can do that so thank you so much for your videos. Add to that every thing you make is so pretty. I am making first hexie project so you really have been a help. Thanks again.

Hi Emma I must apologise for not commenting on your fabulous vlog, I watched it when you uploaded it and downloaded the free pattern, thank you that is very generous of you. I was in bed when I watched your vlog and then afterwards fell asleep as it was bedtime for me. This is turning out to be a wonderful series. You talked about moving to a bigger room which made me smile as I did that a few years ago. However being in lockdown has made me realise just how full it is and badly in need of a declutter. My goodness Emma I am ashamed of all the stuff I have hoarded, does anyone else have the same problem as me? I would be really interested in how you keep the clutter in check. It has taken me all week and still not finished but I have lots of things to go to local craft groups where they might use them or sell them towards their charities. I really look forward to seeing you each week Emma, you are a tonic. Big hugs and loves always Dorothy 😘🙋🏻❤️🌟

Thank you Emma. I’m loving this series and really enjoyed the video. Part three out already and all I’ve done so far is piece my base fabrics together!
Looking forward to getting the Hexiform so I can make a start on the fun bits.
