What causes mild bleeding after regular cycles? - Dr. Teena S Thomas

Any bleeding in between the periods they are called as intermenstrual bleeds and definitely they have to be checked by a gynecologist. A few causes which can cause intermenstrual spotting or bleeding may be a collected blood that comes with the white discharge. It can be a part of pregnancy, abnormal pregnancy or an early pregnancy. Or it can be hormonal imbalance, so needs hormonal treatment for that. It can be any abnormal growth or polyps. So it can be any abnormal growth in the uterus, cervix. You can have polyps which can cause intermenstrual bleeds. There can be a rough sexual activity. It can be infection locally in the vaginal region which can be the cause of small spotting brown discharge which comes in between the periods. So these are various causes but each one of them are of concern and needs to be treated. So any such intermenstrual bleed has to be shown to a gynecologist.

I finished my period on 11 sep and then the spotting start 3 days after and it comes and go and it becomes heavier on 28 sep and bleed for a week and then the spotting continues till now comes and go and it was mild sometimes i saw grey, black, brown and blood with white discharge. I took the pregnancy test and it was negative. I had no cramps or pain. Recently married. Earlier i would have spotting before and after periods for 3 to 4 days and it was regular. But now it was always spotting. I don't know what to do. Please help.
