The hunger games is so much more profound the older I get! I’m so happy to see that you’re back on the hunger games train!!

I'm 28 now, so I was around when The Hunger Games books first came out, as well as the films. This series changed my life and altered my belief system in a way that was SO special and important for me as a young teenager. It made me question the government, the treatment of poor people, the justice system, all of it. I found myself looking at the people of District 12, the Games themselves, the parading of Tributes and Victors amongst the rich as though they were props - and I thought to myself over and over, "It isn't fair!!" And that rage has followed me into adulthood. I have the politics I have today because of those books. They radicalized myself and I believe - an entire generation.

is it just me or she's actually glowing?

My favorite thing about the Hunger Games is that it was this profound series that we all read and loved when we were young but it dumped down by the media and simplified into being about a love triangle, and then we all grew up and reread it and had a Hunger Games Renaissance where it was really given the appreciation and the deep analysis it always deserved.

I think I will never get tired of watching this video even after 30+ of binge-watching, it's soo good! (I have already read most of the books on the list thanks to her) I'm particularly so blown-away by how articulate and honest she is when it comes to recommending and describing books which is really rare in the book community tbh.

My Dark Vanessa is THE one for me. I never read a book in which I related to more. It was incredibly healing for me and made me feel not alone. It captured the after effects of trauma and complex PTSD so well. It was SO well done.

The moment she uttered "hot librarian" I IMMEDIATELY went to amazon to buy that book😂

Do my eyes deceive me??? Did you really finally just drop your all-time favorite books??? 😭😭

In all honesty, I know I've read at least 80% on the books in this video, but I'm gonna watch all the same cuz seeing you talk about your favorite books is actually therapeutic 🥰

46 minutes of Hannah's recommendations? Yeees!
Also, you mentioning Six of Crows makes me shed a tear as the Shadow and Bone show got canceled by Netflix yesterday 🥺 i know it wasn't perfect, I know the books are better but... the casting was everything I imagined, and I reaaaally wanted to see what would come out of there.
And must say, not only the Six of Crows duology but A Picture of Dorian Gray, Babel, If We Were Villains... your videos introduced me to MOST of my favorite reads and I THANK YOU for that!
Lots of love from Portugal 🫶🏻

I re-read the Hunger Games trilogy when BOSAS came out a few years ago and had the same feelings. When I read it as a teenager I was mainly focused on the drama and the love triangle. But, reading it from an adult perspective made it mean so much more! There was so much my 14 year old brain was not picking up on lol

1000% agree on Ember in the Ashes! Hannah introduced me to it and it remains a favorite ❤

The second book of Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe is one of the best books ever! It broke me into pieces and then put me back together. I've read it twice this year!

i truly think people don't talk about persepolis enough. i read it for the first time as a young kid (maybe 8 or 9) because i was obsessed with graphic novels and i loved it, and i've read at least 10 times since.

I think you’d really enjoy the Witch Hat Atelier manga! The vibes are so cozy and sincere and the storyline has been really interesting so far! The art is absolutely gorgeous, probably the best artwork I’ve seen in a manga, and the characters are all so unique and endearing!

I’ve dnf’ed every Emily Henry book but I buddy read Happy Place with my childhood friend. It just hit so hard …. we ended up discussing life and friendships etc. and how they evolve over time. Idk, everyone’s being a bit strict….. it’s definitely her best work 😅

Finally, justice for Happy Place! 💝💝 This was an easy 5 stars all time favorite for me.

Happy Place is absolutely Emily Henry’s best work!!!! People say it’s her You and I had the same experience, friend, it was so good! We can die on this hill together! I thought Book Lovers was good and then I read Happy Place and now that’s my fave 🥰
