the story finished. story about broken promises. august announced homekit support a long time ago... and this is no true. so at this moment a lot of people who trust august and buy doorbell camera are left without homekit support. even apple remove doorbell category from homekit...

If they charge subscription to access to your front door feedback, that means that they have access to the feedback of the front doors of every one of their customers who purchased the door bell.
If Google spying your emails and your online behavior wasn't enough, I hope that Google accessing the live feed of every home in the world creeps you out.

Verticle video and no night vision? Is this a joke? If you need to show your video in court, no one will can easily make out the details with this cameras sideways video and black bars taking up 70% of the screen. How stupid

It should run off batteries just like the August SmartLock, Hard wiring is just to much of a hassle

Too big, it will need a special plate to mount it, as in the ugly stained pine chunks in the video.

So while I am a subscription hater... $5 a month to be able to see it on an Alexa device is pretty cool. Although I will admit that as an owner of 8 Alexa devices I am becoming an Amazon Hater.

I guess my question would be which doorbell offers the best picture and sound quality? This one is bigger, does that mean it has a better speaker?
