speaking of adapting anything for dnd, here is a little chain of spell evolution
1 as I steal everything egypt related for my egypt campaign, I of course steal the horadric cube from diablo 2.
2 as I expand everything, I create a fusion spell that the cube uses and weave it in the plot.
3 create side spells in the same spirit as well as a fission spell.
4 as I work on a new magic system, rearrange the spell so that in dnd equivalent there is one for each odd spell level with increasing power effect ranging from I can repair that sword to the delicious in dungeon mad mage could learn from me.

Oh yay, i was just rewatching a few of your other episodes

I didn't roll on your charts, but I'm eager to share an environmental encounter in waiting to put I'm front of my characters.

The PCs find themselves walking through a wooded area when they hear the tinkling of thousands of tiny chimes in a gentle breeze. Their trail has bought them into a particular stand of trees full of blooming flowers, whose petals are the most vibrant and delicate crystal. The ground is littered with fallen petals, they crumble under foot. It's incredibly beautiful, but when the winds pick up, the razor thin petals are knocked from their perch on the tree and become a hazard to anyone below. I might prompt dex saves vs slashing damage, but i might use it mostly as a way to ruin some of their gear.
I probably won't use this part because I'm committed to running only a certain number of sessions, but an NPC to add might be a tiny fey who can offer them a shrinking magic and safety in its home until the winds pass, but it has no un-shrinking magic, so they'll have to figure out a new problem.

I'm hoping my party will enter the Feywild in our next session. I am planning to get them to enter it during the spring carnival (drawing inspiration from the Witchlight book). In my version of the Feywild the seasons will represent locations on a circular path. They will start at spring on the map, and depending on the direction they go they will either enter the summer or winter realm, with the Seelie and Unseelie courts in their centre. So when they first get there, they will mostly meet neutral fey, but as they travel they will notice the tone changing and either meet summer of winter fey (either of which may be friendly or hostile). The daylight hours will also be dependent on their location within the Feywild, with spring being sunrise, summer day time, autumn sunset and winter night. So you can think of the Fey realm as the surface of a torus (doughnut shaped) with the Seelie Court (midday) at the north pole, the Unseelie court (midnight) at the south pole and spring (dawn) and autumn (dusk) at the equator, on either side of the doughnut. This also means that no matter how many long rests they have, a day will only have passed if they circumnavigate the realm fully, so some of their magic items will only work once, because they recharge each day 😈 (I'm sure they will find others we'll see how it works out.

Do you have books you'd recommend to better understand fey and the feywild? I'd enjoy reading books that are scholarly (explaining the ideas and themes common in fey stories) as well as books that are good examples of stories dealing with fey.
