Just an FYI: this is how you manually release the charging cord IF it is stuck. You don't have to do this every time. There is an electronic switch that normally releases the charging cord when the car is unlocked, but that can sometimes get stuck and not actuate. In that case, you will use this method.

I my case I used your advice to get the plug in. The little blocker that is holding the plug was stuck in the out position, so I could not plug it in. I was able to lower it using your method and it is in and charging! Thank you!

LOL literally 2 days ago when I was cleaning out the trunk of my model s, I found that the was a piece of misaligned carpet and when I pulled it out, i realized that it was the port release!

Usually when I cannot take out my charge cord it’s because the car is asleep so either open the trunk or push the button for the door to open and then I bet you charge port works for you.Good luck and God bless
