What makes your videos stand out from those of other audio related YT channels is that you are an excellent communicator, Graham. Very clearly and concisely explained. Keep it up.

Thanks for the great review on the new engine! I bought PT 11 last week and it is already handling my plug-in heavy sessions MUCH more efficiently!

Thank you for your great video once again!! By the way, does the system have the same response with non-Avid stock plugins (like the D-Verb)? Can it handle better with virtual instruments, in multiple tracks, that need a lot of processing power?

Great review, Graham! Pro Tools 11 is definitely a strong step in the right direction for Avid. To me, one of the BEST features with Pro Tools 11 is the ability to continue to use Pro Tools 10 on the same system - BRILLIANT!!!

HELLO GRAHAM! I love your videos, and been following you since 2013 :)
BTW Im having a really big problem :(
Im using Pro Tools HD10 (10.3.9), and whenever a try to use my Tascam us 16x08 audio interface as the playback engine it says that the current playback device could not initialize.
What can I do? :(

does bouncing offline change the quality? Would you NOT want to bounce offline if it was a final bounce?

Usually, when you stop playback (in some DAWs) the cpu jumps a bit. Happens to me in Live when I'm using a CPU killer like the LuSH-101.

I totally agree. Avid is just brutal. Logic is a lot more value for money...with better and amazing stock plugins and instruments. :)

AAX 64 format is the biggest deterrent for upgrading or buying PT 11.

I'm debating whether or not to get PT11. I'm currently running Sonar X2 and Reaper, and I have a lot of VST plugins and VSTI's, none of which have AAX versions.

Pretty impressive test! I like this new fast-bouncing feature (I almost loose my mind, when made the overdubbing for 40 minutes long video, and bounced it with errors for several times in ProTools 10) and new meters looks very impressive!

That's an amazing machine. Still way more than I need for my hobby solo recording. By the time I get to the point where I'm recording all of these things, I'll be buying Pro Tools 12!

Great review ..regarding big arrangements in the ProTools environment  do you find that mixing gives you the same integrity that you'd get recording smaller sessions or does it loose clarity and sound compressed or impeded in any way to your ears? Thanks

If by control you mean Automation... I'm not sure, actually. Haven't tried. But MB-7 hosts the proper VST version of the plugin, and it sounds exactly the same. You put MB-7 in the track, then load up a VST into it. It's a multiband mixer, and you can load VSTs for each band, if you like. It's a really powerful and clever plugin. If you look at ProToolsExpert they covered it a few weeks back.

Excellent review. My laptop just decided it does not want to run ProTools anymore.... Here is your funny part... I have/had been running the original MBox with ProTools LE 6.9 for a hundred years. lol.... My ProTools 11 will be here soon and I went with the Eleven Rack for the interface. Long story.... Your review definitely put me at ease with my purchase. Thanks for sharing.

great review...another advantage PTHD has is the 64bit depth floating point internal mixer, so its really hard to clip the master bus. :)

Just curious of the performance when jumping between markers on playback? I only ask because I noticed the cpu% jumped up to 100 when you stopped playback. Excellent review. I plan to make the move to 11 when Slate does.

Nice to see PT11 got a smart plugin disable function too.

Hey Graham... What is the CPU meter you are using there?  I'd like to thank you again for all the work and knowledge you share..I've bought a lot of gear with your recommendations. You're Reviews are invaluable...Including this review which help me decide to cave in and go with PT11 (currently using PT10)..

God Bless and again Thank you

Nice review. I've got an i7 2.2ghz 17" Macbook Pro (early 2011). With PT10, if I hit about 40% CPU usage, it starts to crap out. PT11 is infinitely better. I can edit and have other apps running in the background, no problem.

One downside for me is that Beat Detective is really slow compared to PT10 - and I'm doing a lot of that right now (editing drums for an album). Hoping they address that soon.
