So 2 time cancer survivor here. I've been under A LOT of anesthesia. One time as I'm going out the doctor said, "Oh fuck!" After the surgery, I asked him why. He said they forgot to give me an anti-nausea.

I had to have foot surgery. I remember when the nurse was trying to wake me up I faintly remember cursing her out about not wanting to get up. Sorry who ever I did that to 🥺

When I woke up from my wisdom teeth being taken out, the dr came in to talk to my mom, and I promptly looked at her, back at him and asked “who the fuck are you??”

Right before my previous surgery, my Ortho came up to me mid-hallway and squeezed my hand. I was on my way to the OR but was rather high off the Valium dose. Somewhere between him walking up to me and the hand squeeze, I exclaimed, “HEYYYY SEX KITTEN!” 🥳
He is my favorite. Lol

I have pics with my surgeon and nurses where we all have bedpans on our heads, we’re pretending to clink “wine” cups, and one where we are pretending to be in the last supper painting. It was the same team that fixed my left hip, and they were going in to fix my right one. Don’t remember a lick of it, but my god they were exactly what a depressed 18 year old needed❤️😂

I could've made a trucker who sailed blush with how badly I went off after my 2nd C-section was royally screwed up and they ended up having to bring me in for emergency surgery, TWICE! I was awake and FULLY aware for the C-Section, even after the spinal wore off, and after begging them to kill me for an hour, they FINALLY told me they were going to put me out and THAT'S when I gave them a piece of my mind AND started THREATENING them! I only remember about 10 seconds after they gave me the anesthesia, but my doctors and nurses told me ALL about it when I woke up 4 hours later.😂🤣😂🤣

When I had my appendix out I asked them to show it to me once they closed me up, they woke me up so I could see it and all I could do was say was "fuck off" before I passed back out I FELT SO BAD

My mother had 7 brain surgeries before the tumor finally killed her. She used to say that being woken up from the anesthesia is like waking on a warm, luxurious dark shore, and there are voices calling your name from across a Mississippi-wide river made of pain, and waking up means deciding to swim across that river towards those voices one more time...

My last procedure was aborted as I started to fight my surgical team. Took 4-5 people to hold me down and get me under control enough to get the surgical instruments out of my neck. Fun times.

Going under anesthesia next week & I’m so worried I’m going to start discussing my job and/or life failures. There’s a lot in the brain vault that is under lock & key!

I told my anaesthetist in recovery that he was fit. He said “thanks but I’m a bit too old for you, and I’m your Dr”😂oh and the time i was in recovery been given ketamine and was screaming “I’m on a cloud” 🤣

Apparently I swear when coming around and speak fluent Afrikaans (my 2nd language). And I shout VERY loudly for my husband. Includes conscious sedation.
