In this series we're exploring how you can make chords on the guitar yourselves. From a complete beginner to a player who can freely make, alter, break down and analyze chords. I'll take you through the steps you need to learn to master these techniques and make them your own. This will greatly benefit your playing and overall knowledge of the instrument and music theory in general.

I’ve been playing for a while and slowly learning bit by bit. My head exploded with this lesson

I hope this series never ends. I’ve been playing guitar 6 years, barely any theory learnt. I’m learning so much every week with this

This comment will disappear into the ether but I stumbled onto your channel a couple weeks ago and it's unreal how much your videos have helped me already. Been playing guitar for a long time and understanding this stuff that has evaded me forever. You make it so simple and even fun to practice. Thank you so much, Paul!

If there were anyone the guitar world was waiting for as teacher it is u, Paul. We are absolutely grateful for your hardwork in putting these zen like videos with such great detail in theory. I wish if all category of chords like dim, aug, the 9ths, the 5ths, 6ths ....be explained this way, no students would ever fumble in finding or forget their chords but infact be able to replicate every chord in all shapes all over the fretboard

You're really good about not saying "um" and not stumbling over your words while demonstrating. It's really nice, you're very clear.

As someone who taught themselves with only tabs several years ago, this theory series has been amazing! Thank you!

Played guitar for close to 30 years. And learned by ear. Wish i had this lesson when i was young. Your lessons are great since you explain simple and with practical examples. Probably the best basic guitar lessons ive seen on youtube 👍🏻

Thank you for making this simple for those of us who are still learning! I’ve tried studying this for months and it never clicked until now.

These videos are so helpful! I’ve been playing for 12 years but never learned even the basics of music theory. Everything makes so much sense when you explain them.

I’m extremely excited to watch the rest of the series. I’m assuming that if major scales go with major chords then there must be sus scales and minor scales too. If that’s the case I cannot wait to learn more about them!

Thanks for the videos! Keep up the great work.

Why isn't there a Gsus Christ chord?

A good teacher is essential in learning anything. Wish someone had explained the sus your way, way back while trying to grasp music theory. :( Thank you! you've got the gift!:)

These videos have been really useful. I've been playing guitar by ear for years, memorizing chord shapes etc, without having any understanding of how they work. This is really useful. Thanks Paul!

It just makes me really happy to finally understand this stuff, creating chords and listening to them in another way. Thanks Paul!

This is the best music education I will ever get and it makes so much sense!
I am a recreational player who practices guitar every day and I am very good at naturally picking up songs fast. I always feel sad that I never went to music school so its impossible for me to ever understand people with music education. This is a good step. Please make more such videos. I really appreciate it.

I thank you for your take on this. You are a great teacher and i like how clear you made guitar theory to under stand. You literally the glue that is sticking all the theory i read over the years together.

I’ve been playing guitar for years and never dug into theory. I would start and quit shortly after because it becomes overwhelming. But you sir allow it to make so much sense. I’m mind blown. Thank you. I’m watching all of the videos
