We just found out what has been making my daughter so sick with irritatible bowel type symptoms... soybean oil. Try finding foods at the store that don't have that specific oil. It's nearly impossible. Her stomach issues have really opened my eyes to all the crap that is in our food. So we have been trying our hardest to go back to basics and making everything at home. Great video, Lisa! Thanks for sharing your thoughts about this with us.

We make two Ingredient biscuits with 2 cups self rising flour 2 cups of heavy cream .. mix and form and cut into biscuits
Bake at 415 for about 15- 20 minutes

This makes us 8 biscuits but you can half to make 4 instead

Good list! We watch for unsweetened cranberry juice to go on sale on ur natural foods aisle and stock up, then. Stir a little into water or sparkling water to make a tangy refreshing drink.

Good points! I had some allergy issues many years ago effecting my quality of life and started paying more attention to the ingredients lists for common processed food and I was surprised what I seen. Also there are some evil things that manufacturers are trying to hide from people like putting aspartame in milk and not having to add it to the ingredients list. Back in 2013 the dairy industry was interested to have the FDA approve hiding that controversial ingredient from the label.

When we know more, we can make different (better) choices, so all of these are useful to hear. You are very open to saying this is what works for your family, and I appreciate hearing what you've discovered over time (and that sometimes they are a habit that can be a challenge to break...i struggle w/ a shot of the many flavored non-dairy creamers !) Thank you.

Interesting, those are all the exact same things I also stopped buying a few years ago and for those same reasons!
I really try to watch what I eat or drink especially as I'm getting older and seeing for myself what eating all those products did to my health. I've been reversing it for 5 years now and my body does feel so much better overall and I have more energy!
All of the ingredients in the items you listed have inflammatory effects on our bodies and cause chronic health issues. Unfortunately not enough people do the research for themselves and still continue eating all those additives and preservatives mainly because it may be more convenient to have things ready made. I learned to prioritize my time to make homemade foods for myself so I know exactly what is going into my body.
It took a while for me to finally get it and realize how important my health is, thankfully it wasn't too late for me.

The best thing that I’ve done for myself and my family and to switch us to a whole foods diet. We buy minimal ultra processed foods. If I do buy something processed I always check the ingredients. If it has more than 5 ingredients I put it back.

I would suggest to watch out for added sugar in your diet. Anything ultra processed will have the bad seed oils and added sugar. Natural bliss has the soybean oil and 4 grams of added sugar. I would avoid that and go for organic heavy whipping cream.

Great video! This will help out someone who is not health conscious and make them aware of all the chemicals we put in our bodies.

Love this list! ❤ Years ago I stopped buying what you've listed here. At first it was just to save money, but then I discovered the health issues as well. What I've also added to the list, mayonnaise, ketchup, and more recently, ice cream, gingerbeer (which is just a stronger ginger-ale) and mustard. These additional items are much cheaper and healthier to make. Cheers to health and frugality!

Also note that several of the labels you showed stated “Ingredients derived from a Bioengineered Source” or “Bioengineered Food Ingredients” or “Contains a Bioengineered Food Ingredient”.

I agree with you on all of these items except for cold cereals. I much prefer the brand names. But that’s not something we eat a lot of a anyway. I‘m an avid label reader. It prevents headaches!
