Welcome to the show for students who want to know what undergraduate research is like. I’m your host Griffin and in this episode, we will be speaking to Toby Hardcastle, he is an undergraduate student who is doing a Bachelor of Philosophy (Honours) majoring in Physics at the Australian National University.

He is currently researching a crystal called erbium lithium fluoride to better understand how the crystal interacts with light to see if it would be useful in quantum computers. Done under the rare earth iron group at the ANU.
