“So where’s safe?”
“Portland”
“Imma take my chances in the wasteland.”

"I've loved nuclear weapons since I was like 12 years old"

Something I wouldn't tell or make known to the ATF.

"I love nuclear weapons" is a phrase that should be rephrased

I think the map does forget that nukes create their own weather and absolutely change wind patterns for a time

Don’t worry guys, modern hydrogen bombs don’t create any fall out! You’ll be able to walk the smouldering wasteland without your rad meter.

“I’ve loved nuclear weapons ever since I was 12 years old”💀

The maps from 1963 so it’s more likely no where is really unaffected. The article also goes on to talk about how it depends a lot on if the nuke hits the ground or detonates in the sky which changes a lot

Describing yourself as “loving” nuclear weapons is very strange

Every time you hear someone say “nuke-u-lar” instead of nuclear. Run.

Something a lot of ppl misunderstand is where nukes would be most likely to drop. Like we dropped them on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, not bc they were big cities but bc they were major military ports and army bases. Nukes would most likely be dropped on areas like Area51 Air Force base or army Forts

When people talk about nuclear fallout they are referring to very very very very old versions of those bombs which probably won't even be used in nuclear warfare. Nukes don't do that anymore and it's crazy that this misconception has gone on as long as it has and nobody knows it.

You forgot Colorado Springs. Air Force Academy, NORAD, Fort Carson, Space Command and a decently populated city. That is not lasting at all in a nuclear war

If this is based on the old Soviet war plans (which is what’s used a lot of the time), I wonder if modern war plans put less emphasis on the “Rust Belt” area since it has lost some strategic value since the “Steel Belt” days.

My ears scream whenever I hear him say "nuculer" instead of "nuclear"

The fact that Oregon is almost completely safe and people are still not taking about it is crazy
